| Vincent Bethell was arrested for refusing ever to wear clothes, his trial is still pending. He was part of a group demanding the right to permanent nakedness. He is held in a London prison charged with the offence of 'public nuisance'. On the 26th August Bethell wrote from his cell, "I am in segregation and I am locked up in my cell 24 hours a day, not allowed showers, visits, exercise or library access. When I leave my cell to go to court I am forced to be covered with a blanket against my will. At court, they are not allowed to use force to cover me thus I remain naked." Bethell has said he will continue to remain naked until non-sexual public nakedness is legalised. |
